Hello everyone! It is I, Mattystereo, back from the suffocating depths of the US Navy to return to you, the people! Jokes aside, I want to apologize to all y'all, I wasn't prepared for the sudden acceleration in my job in the latter half of 2017 and was almost entirely pulled off the net altogether, and pulled off of DA altogether at the very least. Coming back out of nowhere is actually kind of embarrassing and i'm actually really flattered to see that my comments sections didn't descend after I disappeared. I honestly don't deserve y'all. Speaking of comments sections... I realize I left before posting the text to Fire and Fury... 8 months ago. Jesus Christ. I'm currently on my way to my new station out of Groton, where a friend of mine has my old laptop which has that on it. Though admittedly I will say I did kinda find the response to the absence of any text kinda hilarious. So thank you for that, it really helped soften my frustration with myself.

I really don't know what to say other than I'm glad to be back and glad to see y'all again. My new station here at the states, I should be there for about... 6 or 7 months? About that, which is good for me, and hopefully will give me enough time to make and continue stuff that y'all will enjoy.

With that said I do have something to mark my return, a world fleshing out of some parts of PRC!USA that I think many of y'all will find intriguing and frustrating at the same time!

First off i'd like to say that i'm flattered by the response to "Will The First Person Back Turn On The Lights?". I've always felt that the end of all things is something we all have a morbid curiosity and fear of, and as such could use a less crushingly depressing take, and i'm glad to see that people very much agree.

With that said I feel like the short story wrapped itself up pretty well, but there's potential there for more looks at how civilizations in the Dark Era could be and the forms they could take, a number of which I held back on a bit and didn't post because I didn't feel that it flowed with the story as it ended with the reigniters. If people are interested though i'd be more than happy to take these parts I left out and use them to write a "part 2" if you will, focusing on a region i'll call the "Outer Heavens" for now, beyond the 80KLY sphere of civilized space. The Outer Heavens would be the home of other civilizations, some even from Old Andromeda, that have themselves chosen their own ways to survive, and thrive, to the point where they've taken on forms that not even The Heavens can really understand anymore, or simply cannot contact or work with due to mutual unintelligibility or conflicting goals. Maybe even eventually do a map outlining the Heavens and Outer Heavens and the countless polities within?

If y'all are interested please let me know below.

An interesting quirk resulting from the use of strong force manipulation to alter the orbital paths of electrons occurred to me. Fully octetal elements (elements with completely filled valence shells which as a result are loath to react to other elements) could now be bonded covalently. This has a very big boon that occurs to me, it allows the octetal gases of Xenon, Neon, and Argon to be bonded in covalent psuedo-crystals that take on a similar structure to the ionic bonds of Sodium and Chlorine in salt.

The result of this is a metamaterial I'm calling a XNA Pseudocrystal for now, and it has a number of interesting properties, the first being that in a concealed environment it acts as a perfect electrical insulator, the second is that because of its structure it can dissipate heat and light and current fractally across its surface and alter (by a phase degree based upon the shape of the "crystal") the wavelength of applied light and voltage, basically allowing a component the size of a diode to do all the work that circuit rectifiers and filters do. A XNA counter diode if you will would essentially be like the next transistor in terms of how it would aid in cutting down the size of electronics and streamlining their processes.

The third property/use that I think might be interesting for those who might not exactly care about electronics, is that a sheet of XNA material could be used to counter laser weapons in a similar manner to how energy shields work in science fiction, only it'd be a layer that would likely be embedded between ceramic and metal plates on the outside of a spacecraft. A laser that would hit a spacecraft would first be mediated by the ceramic and then be harmlessly dispersed across the length of the spacecraft with its heat and refracted light vented out of the back through specialized radiators.

Of course it wouldn't be perfect, and a powerful enough laser would simply melt the ceramic and XNA, but it would provide a countermeasure to a good number of lasers and could make diversifying weapons packages in space between lasers, missiles, rail guns, and masers actually practical in a strategic sense rather than just a thing to write for rule of cool.

XNA Pseudocrystals would also take on a slight strawberry cream appearance on Earth, so they'd look kinda pretty.

As one can guess, this will most certainly appear in Earth 2150, though the widespread use of such a material and the long term consequences of strong force technology are still a ways off. I bring it up because some other people with interest in scifi might find it interesting and might want to use it for something. Aside from that, I'm working on my first oneshot in a while and it is coming along pretty well, I'll post a WIP shot of it below, I hope y'all enjoy, meanwhile i've got my Navy Watch to do real soon again. Fun times.

Nyrme: A Reboot

2 min read
Two years I abruptly started, and then just as abruptly stopped, a worldbuilding project known as Nierha, which focused on a group of far future academics in a post-post-apocalyptic world journeying across the Atlantic to create the first publically accessible encyclopedia on the "American Civilization", which by that point was vast, ancient, and very cloistered towards the rest of the world. The project was to focus on an America which had stood for thousands of years, more or less whole, and had become viewed as an ancient progenitorial civilization on par with Egypt or China. It was to focus on the culture, politics, religion, historiography, human geography, and "contemporary issues" of America, while also fleshing out the world outside and the way that post-post-apocalyptic humanity in general lived, mainly through the recollections and thoughts of the academics and their own comments on the Americans in regards to the rest of the world.

I've been meaning to restart it for some time and have long felt that post-post-apocalyptic settings are so horribly underutilized that I might as well take a crack at one to see what I can do. With that in mind I am restarting Nierha, this time under the name of Nyrme, the name change having come as a result of more work on the Future American language, with the first updates to come either in the coming weekdays or coming weekend. This is mostly based on when I will be getting my laptop in the mail, as the computer lab I'm working from has some problems with color saturation and general contrast that I can't easily work around.

In the meantime however I do have a simple WIP shot of the world map, focusing on the four great "ancient civilizations", of which Nyrme is a part, that I can post:

Hello everyone who has followed the progress of Earth 2150! So, when I first started this project I initially thought it was going to be a bust or a oneshot at best, especially given that prior to Earth 2150 my Deviantart portfolio consisted mainly of just that, pieces that were rarely responded to and which often fizzled out. Suffice to say i've been really honored and blessed to see so many people like and are interested in Earth 2150, comment on it, favorite it, PM me about it, and even follow me because of it! As a result my Deviantart is now not only more alive than ever before but Earth 2150 is quickly dominating my portfolio, which is just fine by me!

This has however had a funny result. Since Earth 2150 is a Worldbuilding Project and I never expected it to be this well received I, ahem, heh, didn't exactly plan out the order of updates for Worldbuilding. That should be obvious I think, and honestly because updates don't NEED to be accessed in order (and it's not like this is presented in a linear story format... well, not yet anyways) this isn't much of a problem, except for one thing.

I'm actually running into a block on what kinds of worldbuilding updates I should release next. My updates in progress and my worldbuilding spreadsheet now far exceed my ability to pick what kind of updates should be next. Before it was easy because I had just one update in progress at a time so obviously that would be the next one up, but now with anywhere from five to eight updates cooking at a time it is hard to choose. So with that in mind I thought why not ask all y'all wonderful people what kinds of updates you would want to see next. Of the types of updates I have in progress the ones most along are:

> More religion updates (I have an update on Death Worship and one on the Indonesian Religion of Kejawan cooking)
> Language updates (The African Language, future lingua franca of mankind, is being born in 2150.)
> More Politics (Another political "compass" this time going over attitudes on bioengineering and other "nature altering" politics)
> More SCIENCE! (An update on the actual science of bioengineering and the first uplifted animals, and maybe a sub-update on Proto-Religions of the Uplifts)
> More Technology (On the Space Elevators and the state of Human Space Development)
> Climate Change (More specifics on humanity's home besides the sweeping generalizations in the climate map, as a Southron i'm right now focusing on the American Gulf Coast, or as it is called now "The Broken Banks")
> Food (Wanna know what the average person eats across every continent and just how weird it can get! Do you like your crawfish with dandelion pakoras and watercress soup with some cactus pear wine to wash it down!? If you're a red-blooded American in the 22nd century then you sure as shit do almost as much as you love knotweed pie and soccer!* Well an update for that is in the works, only for every continent of course)

So if you want to see any of these specific updates next please make yourself heard in the comments. Beyond the updates almost done however are updates in progress but not near completion. I bring this up because if y'all want me to pay more attention to any one of these updates to make them come faster then i'll certainly do so. They are:

> Map of Rwanda in 2150
> Map of the Nigerian Civil War
> Map of the Indian Occupation of Europe
> Map of Sea Floor Colonization
> Ethnicity/Race in 2150 (Actually an extremely important update, well series of updates, to this world given that Constructivism, Dynamism, and Climate Change have turned our ideas of race and intersectionality upside down, but it is so far behind BECAUSE it is important oddly enough. Trying not to rush it, but I can certainly focus more on it right now.)
> Gender Politics (A psuedo-compass detailing the state of Gender and Gender Theory in 2150. Might be a bit of a touchy subject, more than Ethnicity/Race I think, but I can certainly move ahead on it if y'all want)
> "Our" Religions (Sure i've talked about new religions, but what about 22nd century mainstream Christianity? Islam? Buddhism? Hinduism? and so on)

If you have any interest in me placing more attention on bringing some of these updates up to speed then please make yourself heard in the comments. I can't promise that any of these updates will come out super soon, especially since i'm dragging in my main map making computer to get purged of a shitload of hijackware and ransomware this week, but I will speed up work on them if asked.

Beyond that, if y'all have anything to say about this worldbuilding project. Any compliments, criticisms, random thoughts, suggestions on areas/ways to worldbuild that I am not touching upon, or even just things you personally would like to see that haven't been mentioned i'm all ears! Thank y'all for your interest and support for my work, and I thank y'all in advance for all the future enjoyment your comments, and even just views bring me, it really does mean a lot! Because honestly to me Worldbuilding is a two way street. It needs an audience to appreciate and even criticize the world to make the world meaningful and enjoyable for me to write down. If I just wanted to gawk at my own ideas i'd sit around and drink tea all day. So thanks for turning what would otherwise be pointless mental masturbation into something FUN!

Also, for any American viewers this is your day-before reminder that tomorrow is Super Tuesday! If you're an American and are not in any of the voting states for Super Tuesday, well, feel free to call me a shithead.

*I'm just kidding about that. Soccer is the Devil's sport and America will never fall to its foul influences.
